Women are juggling more part-time jobs, but earning significantly less than men.
The average monthly income for employed males in March 2006 was $3410, compared with $2400 for females, according to Statistics New Zealand employment data issued yesterday.
Average earnings fell to $2968 for men with two jobs and $2183 for women. Despite the pay disparity the figures were no surprise, Women's Affairs Ministry chief executive Shenagh Gleisner said.
