Hui Taumata’s aims for Maori leadership:

• Institute and resource a leadership component in vocational education pathways.

• Secure resources to establish a Maori leadership institute and leadership incubators.

• Research the generic set of traits and attributes that underpin leadership, and researching leadership in a Maori context.

• Create balanced leaders with multi-value skills, which are primarily founded on cultural values but are broad enough to contribute to improvements in education and employment, the environment, and wealth creation.
