Timi Te HeuHeu

Timi’s contribution to Maori economic development has its roots in the many years he has been part of a changing (natural attrition) team of leaders who manage the tribal affairs of Ngati Tuwharetoa.

Timi’s experience has seen representation on a diverse range of both tribal and pan tribal Boards of Health, Statutory, Business Enterprise and Education., wich has included 28 years as a member of the Tuwharetoa Maori Trust Board, 20 years of the Lake Taupo Forest Trust and 15 years of the Rotoaira Forest Trust.

The responsibility given those tasked with the job of managing & growing tribal assets is huge. The rapidly ever-changing world of business while exciting, can be daunting. The key to making it work is to take people along with you, striking a balance that provides quality management and growth of tribal assets, consistent with good business practice, while upholding steadfastly to Maori tradition and tribal integrity.
