Prof. Ngatata Love 

Dr Ngatata Love is a Professor in the Victoria School of Management, Victoria University. He is also an Emeritus Professor at Massey University and a member of the Massey University Council. He is the Deputy Chairman of the Hui Taumata Trust.

Previously he was the Chief Executive Officer, Ministry of Maori Development (Te Puni Kokiri) from 1995-200 and prior to that the Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, Massey University from 1986-1995. Dr Love was appointed by the government as a Law Commissioner with the New Zealand Law Commission, a position he resigned from in 2006.

 

Dr Love has a long association with education and training having been a member of the staff at Massey University from 1973 to 1995 and then re-joining academia in 2001.

 

Dr Love is currently a Director of a number of companies which include New Zealand Post, Metlifecare Palmerston North and Village at the Park. Dr Love is also the Chairman of several Maori organisations including the Wellington Tenths Trust, Palmerston North Maori Reserve, Port Nicholson Block Claims Team and Te Tatau o Te Po Marae.

 

Tribal affiliations: Te Atiawa, Taranaki, Ngati Ruanui, Ngaruahinerangi, Ngati Tama, Ngati Mutunga, Ngati Te Whiti and Tawhirikura descent.
